What is On Page SEO?
On page SEO is a technique by which all necessary steps taken within a website to improve the ranking in search engine results. On page SEO plays a major role to improve search engine ranking after Google Panda update. You have to focus on page SEO if you want to rank higher, link building and other thing comes second.
Concentrate more on the page itself; how the links words connected to each other, see how relevant your content with respect to focus key words. Making clear to the Google bots to understand that your content is relevant to the keywords.
Doing On page SEO to your existing or future posts/pages contains a simple checklist. Follow this simple checklist to increase your search engine results.
Make your URL short and make sure your URL contains the main Keyword. Don’t ever use the ugly URL like for example techliva.com/p=13?/.

You can also include date or category name in the URL. Keep the keyword within the first 5 words. Because bots pay more attention to the starting 1 to 5 words in the URL.
2 Title tag:
Use your keyword in the title. It is the most important step in on page SEO. If you can use the keyword in the beginning of the title it is even good.
3 Heading tags:
Wrap your main heading of the post/page in h1 tag (<h1></h1>). And use h2 and h3 tags for sub-headings. Use your keywords in H1 compulsorily, if possible use in h2 and h3 tags. Don’t use multiple h1 tags, use one per page/post. You can use multiple h2 and h3 tags if needed. If you use multiple h1 tags bots will get confused while crawling. This may result in negative effect on your on page SEO. Similarly if the keyword lies at the beginning of the heading it’s good. Don’t Increase the font size for making headings, use heading tags, Google bots pay attention to h1, h2 and h3 tags.
4 Alt Text for Images:

Use your keyword in the Alternate text of images. Bots can’t see the image in the post/page if you use keyword in the Alt text, it can understand that this image related to the content. Use images or videos in the content which reduces bounce rate, and increases audience engagement.
Keywords in the content:
Use your keyword in first paragraph, and use them wisely in content. Your focus keyword density must be within 1% to 3%.
5 Highlight your keywords:

Don’t use rel=nofollow while interlinking your posts/pages. What rel=nofollow do is it blocks the bots to crawl that outgoing link. So that you do not share your search engine rank juice with that outgoing link.
8 Meta Description:
Explain your post or page within 160 characters wisely using keywords. If you use keywords at the beginning results are better. The keywords in the Meta description are highlighted in the search engine results so that it becomes more clickable.
9 Page Responsiveness and Speed:
Make sure your website theme is multi device and browser ready. If your website is only for desktop and laptops, it doesn’t get listed in the search engine results in the mobiles and other small gadgets. Spend some money and get a good responsive theme.
A good piece of coding in the theme makes your website faster to load. Website speed is a major factor in Search engine results. The time taken to load your website must be within 0.5sec to 4sec. Above than 5sec you have to improve your site speed.
10 User Experience (UX):
Navigation: Provide a clean and good navigation to your pages/posts. The user should know where am I? Where I came from? Add the blog posts to related category. Add/use a search bar in your website.
Page layout: Page layout is one of the factors that effects on page SEO. The website should be clear and easy to use by users, and also it helps for bots to crawl better. Choose a good theme. Don’t or limit the usage of flash and big banners in your website. Black text with white background and some related media is very pleasant to eye.
Font Family and Size: Font doesn’t affect in your SEO, but having it in right way increases user experience thus increasing audience engagement and number of shares. Use a good font family and size which doesn’t irritate user’s eyes. Use at least 16px font size.
Social Sharing Buttons: Add social sharing buttons to your website. Social shares are the high quality backlinks to your post/page. Adding these buttons increases no of shares. Concentrate more on Google+ for getting shares, followed by Facebook.
